Brogan, Frank T.


Frank T. Brogan A lifelong champion of public education, Frank T. Brogan is currently president of Florida Atlantic University. Starting his career as a fifth-grade teacher in Martin County public schools, Brogan served as dean, assistant principal, principal and ultimately superintendent of schools in Martin County before becoming Florida's youngest-ever commissioner of education. In this post, Mr. Brogan strengthened accountability in Florida's public school system, and today continues that work in higher education. He served as lieutenant governor of Florida under Governor Jeb Bush. The youngest of six children (including twin brother John), Mr. Brogan was the first member of his family to graduate from college. He earned a B.A. in education, magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati, and a master's degree in education from Florida Atlantic University. Also a leader in the fight against cancer, Mr. Brogan currently serves as statewide chairman of Florida's Dialogue on Cancer.
