ROBERT J. CHIARADIO
Mr. Chiaradio was born July 13, 1958, in Butler, New Jersey. He graduated from Montclair State College, Montclair, New Jersey, in 1980, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting. Mr. Chiaradio is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Prior to his appointment as a Special Agent, Mr. Chiaradio was employed as a public accountant/auditor and also as a police officer. Mr. Chiaradio received his appointment as a Special Agent in May 1984. He has been assigned to the Denver, Los Angeles and Honolulu Field Offices. In November 1989, he was ordered to FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he served as a Supervisory Special Agent in the White-Collar Crimes Section, Criminal Investigative Division (CID). In May 1992, Mr. Chiaradio was ordered to the Honolulu Field Office as the Supervisory Special Agent overseeing the White-Collar Crimes program. In May 1995, Mr. Chiaradio was ordered to FBI Headquarters where he served as the Chief of the International Cooperation Unit, CID. In May 1996, Mr. Chiaradio was ordered to the Tampa Field Office to serve as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge. In May 1999, Mr. Chiaradio was ordered to FBIHQ to serve as a special assistant to the Deputy Director. Since December 1, 1999, he has served as the Chief of Staff for Deputy Director Thomas J. Pickard. On December 11, 2000, Mr. Chiaradio was designated Special Agent in Charge of the Tampa Field Office and reported for duty on March 5, 2001. After the terrorist events that occurred on September 11, 2001, Mr. Chiaradio was asked to report back to FBI Headquarters for a temporary assignment as Director Mueller's assistant.
